Yummy Chocolate Cookie Recipe

I'm still not feeling well. Here's the recipe, photos are going to have to wait. I hope to have some great video with the husband's new Flip-thingy too. (Yes, I am not very up on technology either...your learning all sorts of things about me this week!) This is an abbreviate recipe, in other words not pretty but at least you get it today like I said:

Yummy Cookies from Diane Mott Davidson's Book The Main Corpse

Preheat oven to 350 degree

Combine 2 cups of rolled oats and 12 ounces of semi sweet chocolate chips in a large bowl, set aside.
In your mixer cream 2 sticks of butter, 1 cup of packed dark brown sugar, and 1/2 white sugar until creamy.
Sift together 1 1/2 cup flour, 1/2 tsp baking soda, 1/2 tsp salt, and 1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa, add to butter mixture and combine thoroughly (you should end up with a stiff dough.)
While mixing, lightly beat two eggs, add 1 Tbs of milk and 1 1/2 tsp of vanilla; add this to the mix
Add chips and oats and stir until well mixed. Drop with a scooper (about 2 Tbsp each) onto parchment paper about 2 inches apart and cook for 9-12 minutes. Let cool on pan 1 minute, then cool completely on rack.
While cooling melt 9 oz of white chocolate and 1 1/2 Tbsp of shortening in a double boiler, dip the top part of the cookie into chocolate, drizzle, do whatever floats your boat. I'll show you a picture of mine tomorrow. Enjoy! (Hint, very good when slightly cool (out of fridge) with a cup of tea of coffee or warm milk)
